Guest guest
Post-Exertion exhaustion is a main symptom of CFS and OI and also for 40% of FM patients. Exercise is not really an option for most of us. Thank those who advise exercise and find another subject. We owe no one an explanation for anything at all ever. Explaining our symptoms just makes us seem kinda crazy 'cause people don't know how to deal with chronic illness. So, we don't owe them an explanation and they cannot listen carefully, let others talk. It is hard to nit talk about our weird symptoms. One way I get out if talking about my conditions is to say, well, being chronially ill, at least I have an endlessly fascinating set if conditions. There is a tummy exercise one can do in a lying down or sitting position for a second, building up slowly to more seconds and then minutes (per Jane Fonda): Tighten tummy as much as possible and then pull in your butt. Most important to remember: Breath while doing this exercise. Breathing during any exercise was the most difficult thing for me to remember and the most rewarding thing. I am up to a minute and am no longer losing my balance on my way to the toilet. And now when people advise exercise, I talk about that one and my improved balance. : ) toni cf-alliance.tripod.com/ from iPodTouch On Aug 8, 2012, at 12:24 PM, Rita G wrote: > They don't get it that if I don't have the extra energy to exercise, and force myself to do it, that it just depletes me further.
