Web wisdom was What to do about free T

I really don't have time for another group, Sam. The point I've been making

is that unless there is some clinical study or reference, other than

someone's opinion, flat statements about where in range women ought to be

can be dangerous. Different women will feel well at different levels within

lab normal ranges. If that was not true, there would be no ranges. If

everyone thinks they have to have cortisol at the top of the range in the

morning, 3/4 up at noon, etc., they will be led to take hydrocortisone or

some other preparation, very possibly without cause. HC use is not without

some risk, including osteoporosis.

Too much of " Web wisdom " is nothing more than someone's opinion, or the

results of a trial, n of 1. TS Wiley's stuff is nothing more than opinion.

Lee's stuff was opinion. And too many groups put forth nothing more

than opinion. To me, that is very dangerous. Certainly for me, taking HC

would be deadly, even though my saliva coritsol values do not reach the

specific levels in the ranges that you specified.

I guess I am very sensitive to this as, for too long, I listened to " Web

knowledge. " I lost years of life quality and bone density by doing that.

For two years, I pushed through progesterone cream use because of the

" wisdom " of a Lee Yahoo group. I thought it was going to improve my

bones. Hah! Now, I don't believe anything unless someone can at least

provide bona fide references. Even then, you have to look at financial

interests, quality of research, etc. Women come to these groups as needy as

I once was. Too many will believe anything and it is our obligation to put

forth good information.

That is my humble opinion.
