Guest guest
I have been for my first session with an audiologist who has been trained in TRT and I have ordered the sound generators. I see the last post on this topic was a year ago. Does anyone who has tried TRT have any update on its effectiveness? > > > > > > Hi, , > Tinnitus Retraining Therapy combines sound therapy (wearable sound generators etc) with Cognitive Behavioural Therapy. It can help in habituation, and often takes 9-18 months of work to achieve this. It is not a one shot deal. > If you are in the UK, contact Jacquie Sheldrake in London (google TRT, London, Devonshire Place) . She is very well versed in misophonia and should be able to advise. > With regards, > Tara > > > Tara Economakis, Dip.AdvHyp,(N-SHAP),MCRAH,UKCP > > > Telephone 01488-685151/ 686881 > > > info@... > > > www.lastingchanges.co.uk > > > > > > > > To: Soundsensitivity > From: jenny_woolfson@... > Date: Sun, 16 Jan 2011 01:36:09 +0000 > Subject: Tinnitus Retraining Therapy > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > Hi everyone, > > > > I wondered if anyone has any experience of tinnitus retraining therapy for misophonia/ phonophobia? I have been in touch with a therapist and it is VERY pricey, £300 for one consultation. I am very reluctant to sign up and would be delighted to hear any stories, good or bad. > > > > Thanks xx >
