Guest guest
What my rhumey told me about pain & pain meds ( I have MANY conditions that causepain, not just Stills) is " You are always going to have some level of pain. There is nothing we can do to STOP the pain. What is important is that you are functioning. " You know, it really is a pretty acurate statement, and all I want is to keep it at a level I can handle. I understand I won't ever be pain-free. I wish I could be,but those days are so far in the past. Anyway...I guess I started rambling. My point was...even if a pain management doctor/clinic does not get you totally OFF pain meds, maybe they can get you on whatever works BEST for you so you don't have to take things unnecessarily. I plan to get some injections in my spine. If those help a lot, I know I won'thave to take as many pain pills because my back is currrently causing the worst ofmy pain, and it is not Stills related. Good luck. April Sent from my Verizon Wireless Phone New to the group, pain management. > > > > > > Hey, my name is Whitney. I just joined the group and am excited to be able to share my story with others and hopefully learn something new. I was diagnosed with Systemic JRA when I was one year old, and I am 24 now. Living with JRA is all I've known but I am totally okay with that. I have been on numerous medications. Some have been a blessing and others not so much. > > My question tonight is I'd like to know if anyone goes to a pain management clinic and more information on them. I use pain medication on a nightly bases, and my rheumy has no problem giving it to me so far. He understands that I need it, but it has gotten harder to get a hold of him for refills lately. I do not know much about what a pain management doctor does for you exactly, so any information will help! Thanks so much! > > > > > > > > > >
