Guest guest Posted January 12, 2012 Report Share Posted January 12, 2012 When triggered I have an inability to put the anger, rage and hate out of my mind. I can see how NFB is trying to train the mind to replace the negative thought/feelings with calmer, more pleasant thoughts/feelings. I also am trying to be aware of when I dwell too long on a negative thought/feeling and seem to sit in it too long. It has become an unpleasant habit of my mind to sit and stew, especially at night. Just a little thing that I do when I catch myself, is to count in threes to 99. Each time I do that I completely shake off the negative feelings and wonder why I was making a big deal in my mind about whatever was upsetting me before. Like this silently, 3,6,9,12,15,18,21, etc. It is not enough to cut through the rage I feel when a slob is slurping but I can shake the after affects much quicker.
