sorry it's taken me this long to thank all of you who've sent me info on the

brushing technique and getting a child more comfortable with hearing aids. this

seems like a truly supportive and close community.i'm going to send all this

info to my brother, in hopes that he'll reconsider the brushing technique.

apparently their OT had presented this technique before, but i guess my sister

in law didn't feel that she could keep up with the 'every 2 hours schedule'

while my brother is at work. hopefully your feedback will make it seem worth

their while - it sounds as though it has has some pretty amazing results for

your children.

i know i read something in here about applying pressure to a child's gums to

help get them to eat. does anyone know any more about this? the OT would really

like to get jason to start eating, but he's not interested at all, and i guess

it's just frustrating for all concerned.

i still haven't found an MD in NYC that works with CHARGE, but i'll let you know

when i do.

i'm keeping the cronk family and joshua's family in my prayers. my heart goes

out to them.

we did the brushing with my son. I was NOT able to stick to the every 90

minutes schedule they gave me either. but, I did it as often as I could,

and always before those 'stressful' events. he improved so much!!! we

don't brush anymore cause he doesn't need it now. he seems to be much

better when it comes to his tactile defensiveness. so, even if they can't

do the schedule, it still helps. I know the OT's say is HAS to be

according to schedule, but we did it 'when we could' and it still helped.

good luck to them :)
