Guest guest
, The symptoms you describe soud like bile duct blockages without infection. The dark urine is caused by bilirubin being excreted through the kidneys when the blood levels rise. You may be able to notice a yellowing of the whites of Phil's eyes during these times too. I would suspect small stones decending and blocking the main bile duct, causing pain and dark urine for a while then being passed and the symptoms releived. If the blockage involves the pancreatic duct, the pain would normally be much more severe and accompanied by nausea. To confirm any of this theorizing, and ERCP or possibly an MRCP would be needed. If it is stones, increased Actigall might help, but that is iffy. Hope Phil can find something to relieve the pain.
