I have been on this chat line for a couple of years now but do not generally

contribute, however I think it a valuable tool and asset.  If I can now be so

cheeky and pose a question to you all.

I have just been in hospital with haemoptosis, (spitting up blood). I am

wondering has anyone with stills had the same that could have been caused by

stills.  My doctors say its only been seen once, so think mine due to other

causes.  Like exposure to fiberglass and resins (we have been building a boat

for 3 years part time now) they have ruled out TB and the cytology test will

come back next week but they think that unlikely.  They are also screening for

various infections, so may not have any link with still.  However, I have been

in recession since Feb 2011, but a few day before the blood I started with some

cyclic temperatures and headache, I do not get the rash. And for a few day it

went away and since having a broncoscope the temps have come back, at random

intervals, so not sure if I am in for a bout of my stills or not.  It does seem

cruel if the two are unrelated but just happened together.  So I thought I would

ask this large group if

anybody else has had any experience of this.

I was diagnosed with AOSD back in 1994, I am now 50yrs old.  Since being

diagnosed I have had 8 bouts of my stills, where I have taken prednisone.  the

last episode was the worse where I was on it plus anti inflammatories for 6

mouths.  But otherwise consider myself fairly lucky as at other times I am very

well.
