My son has been on the enzymes for 5 months and we still are having

daytime wetting problems. I believe the cause may be phenols. I'm

looking into this now.

Beth, how has the " infraction " going. You posted earlier this week

and after a few great days, he got hold of the teddy graham? Just

wondering.

As for the wetting, my older son had a long-standing wetting problem

until 9 years old. He finally stopped on enzymes when ALL the

casein/dairy was taken with enzymes (any dairy caused him to wet),

BUT he would still wet if I gave him any supplements at bedtime

(magnesium, multi, calcium, etc). That might help. I think K

here had the longest run on wetting of anyone...a couple months. I

think phenols had something to do with it eventually. Is you son

showing any positive signs? That would be the real tell-tale. If you

are only seeing negatives...not good. But if you are seeing

positives along WITH the negatives, that is a good sign. I am so

hoping this works for you.

Thank you for all your replies. Unfortunately, on day 4 after

infraction he is stilling having trouble. Still being uncooperative

(though not having meltdowns like a couple of weeks ago). I am

getting low on Pep. but should be getting some more as well as Zyme

Prime next week so I hope maybe using both of them all the time will

help.

As for the wetting, he never had a wetting problem prior to

enzymes. I was so proud of him. He would stay dry all night (12

hrs) almost from day 1 of being potty trained. He has always had

casein/dairy - we've never removed it b/c lab work indicated only

gluten a problem. He is not taking any supplements at this time. I

am not really seeing any postives from the enzymes (except the 3

really nice tantrum free days we had before infraction). I will see

how things go after I get the enzymes next week. I hope they will

give some improvements. But to be honest, I am a little

frustrated. I don't think my son was any worse before the enzymes

and diet than he is right now. I will keep you updated on any

developments.

Thanks again.

If that is the case, I would suggest just using the two bottles you

have coming and if no more improvements come out of that, just skip

it. At least you can look at just 3 more weeks. Any infraction

should be done by that time too, so you can make a good honest

evaluation...and at least it is a stopping point. But you should at

least see some positives by that time if it is going to be helpful.

Hopes for future.

Beth,

I think past one month, he should be adjusting and the wetting should

be getting better. Have you added more highly phenolic foods to his

diet such as; colorings, grapes, apples, bananas, oranges, dairy,

some nuts? This is frustrating I know, because my son went through

this, too. If the phenols are really limited, he now does not have

wetting.

If you feel he has not benefited from the enzymes, and you have been

giving them with everything, taking him off the enzymes will for sure

help you see if they have made a difference.

Hoping you find answers,
