I have read the BFL and am so excited to start...BUT I am confused

over portion sizes regarding certains things. For instance - eggs. Is

it one egg? 2? I've seen the breakfast burrito recipe & it has 4 egg

whites. What about oatmeal? Is it the serving size listed on the can?

And fruits - is the fruit list on the authorize list only what we can

have? I love pineapple (crushed in juice) in my cottage cheese. Thanks!!!

If you are using EFL recipes, those portion sizes are for the average

person. The 4 egg whites for the breakfast burrito is a sensible

portion size for the average person. If you are bigger or smaller

than the average person, you need to adjust accordingly. The eating

for life website provides nutrition information. If something as 4

servings, it is for the average person. The nutrition stats have info

for Men and Women assuming that men would require bigger portions and

women less. An easy way to adjust this to change the servings to 3 or

5 for a 4 serving recipes.

An easy way to adjust the burrito is to either add or subtract an egg

from the recipe.

As for what is not on the list, you would just need to use common

sense that most fruits are going to be okay to use in an appropriate

portion size.
