Guest guest
Hi -again- Helen, You had asked specifically for advice and before when I posted to you I expressed sympathy (and empathy I hope), but no real advice other than my permission to scream -if you so desire... Stupid advice. This, too, MIGHT be lame in the way of advice, but sometimes what helps me is ANYTHING which sort of distracts. Something which is not predictable. I know you have/ mentioned teen age kids so it is a good thing you are not alone. Do you at all like animals or birds??? I know not everyone shares how good the make me feel and not everyone is in a position to have them economically or maybe otherwise. (Sometimes they simply are not allowed be it by a rotten landlord, cretinous neighbors or via someone you live with). Would it help at all if you took in a cat, or two? If your kids agreed to do the physical part of the care of same -such as taking them to vets, cleaning up after them, etc? I know that a dog would like as not be too much. A lovely woman who lives near me had a large and wired-for-sound dog however because of her illness she had to give the dog up and that is not something one should set one's self up for. Cats though are fairly independant but still can be loving and entertaining. I only say them in plural as two might be more fun to watch (and nice sleeping on your bed). Just a thought. Hope this might help! Jane, the one with the hound, NYC
