I second Wendi's emotion. ;-) I'm a week post-op and pretty lucid and getting weaned pretty quickly off the drugs, getting my stitches out today, knowing I'll still need help for at least a week or so (and can't drive yet!), but I'm wondering what to do with myself until September when I go back to work. Then I stop and realize that although I'm doing quite well, my neck is still QUITE stiff, and my job used to take a toll on me pre-surgery even as a relatively in-shape 25 year old. So, moral of story: I'm not going back until I am sure my body can take it. This surgery has been quite an ordeal, even if it's not the freakshow I expected (thank goodness!) and I'm only slowly becoming myself again. Sure, I feel pretty good... but I'm not not not going to rush things. I expect to return to work Labor day week - and only if I am good and ready. And now, back to bed to remember the other lesson I learned tonight: Tylenol + valium okay during day - percoset needed at night. Take care,
