I took Provigil about 5 years ago. I think it was 150 mg 1-2 times a day. I am

pretty sure I was also on sleeping pills then...either Ambien or Rozerem--so

perhaps my side effects were from a combination of pills.

I was jittery on the Provigil.

I got a huge, tense knot in my back after a few weeks, or maybe a month or

two...I don't really remember. I also got mild pain in my chest and down my

left arm. I didn't like that.

For whatever reason, I couldn't get in with the prescribing dr., but I spoke to

his colleague on the phone, who told me these weren't possible reactions. My

pdoc seemed to agree, telling me I had Generalized Anxiety making this tension.

I went to my GP, and he felt this knot in my upper left part of my back, and

said, " Wow, you have a huge knot! " He prescribed a muscle relaxer and

ibuprofen, if I remember correctly.

After all that, I think I was prescribed Lexapro (from the Provigil-prescribing

doc) (because I was so tense?) IDK. But realizing that I was being upped to 5-6

medications, that were making me feel worse rather than better, I quit them all

(the AD after just one dose that left me ill and nauseous.)

Knot, chest and left arm discomfort all went away upon discontinuation of meds.

Never had anything like that again, except with I was on Strattera, which gave

me sore muscles and myalgia symptoms. (And later, I believe, left arm tingling

when I was on Strattera and Zoloft).

I concluded that prescription drugs that ramp me up are not good for my body. I

won't take them anymore. Guess I have to stick to coffee.

Thank you for this information. Can anyone speak to their side effects while

taking any of these?
