Guest guest
Hi Lucia, This isn't the same situatuation but may be worth thinking about.A couple years ago a friend s daughter who has spina bifida and hydracephalus had her myelomeningocele repaired. The little girl was two at the time.Until then everything had gone fine. After the repair her hydracephalus worsened.A shunt was put in and all was well for a short time. They ended up putting in a second shunt. Sonya lost all her leg movement and is still having problems(now 5 yrs old). They say that she was draining CSF through the myelomeningocele and that repairing it caused the problem.
