I am using Netscape.....I assume that there are differences with other browsers. Yes??? Or is there some " hard and fast " rule that new folks can use with their posts? Each individual has to decide if their post is of interest to the whole group or if it's mainly directed at one person. If it's directed at one person, in most cases it should be sent to that one person, not the whole group. About the " REPLY " questions: For people reading and replying using the web interface at : Hitting " reply " will send a message to the group. For people who get the group mail in their e-mail box, hitting " reply " will only send a message to the individual that you are replying to. Hitting " Reply to All " will send a message to the group AND one directly to whom you're replying to. If you just want to send a reply to the group, look in the To: field before you hit send, and make sure that the groups address is the only one there. That's how it works. We've discussed it on numerous occasions, and we like it the way it is. A few don't. Oh well, can't please everyone
Guest guest
for those of us that only read posts on the web,as we may not want to fill our hard drive with mail, or stay online downloading , every single e-mail, that gets posted to the list, we only can reply to the entire list unless, there is some chance that we have the e-mail address from some time in the past. It still is new to me, as it just became an impossibility to reply personally to the author , lately. For some of us, to not read it on the web, is totally overwhelming , and we will, for no reason, go back to recieving the posts in the e-mail. Just trying to explain , in case some did not know , as I did not know for awhile, myself. Terry
