Guest guest
Hi all: I rarely write, but keep you all in my prayers. This weight gain issue is my burden too. I have fibromyalgia, myofasciall pain syndrome, arthritis, degeneratted knees and more, so have tried many meds. Prais God, that about 18 months ago I crossed paths with a wonderful woman doc who " listened " to my obsessive research/analysis - that meds do in fact have an undesired impact on some people's metabolisim, thus cause /contribute to weight gain. I researched every med I was on and any that noted it " might " cause " weight gain " I deemed bad for my metabolism. My doc agreed to stop those meds and substitute others. She also recommended morphine instead of just hydrocodone for pain - AND I added green tee capsules from Immune Support. Once my pain was better managed, my sleep improved after 9 years of insomnia and I have now lost 105# without any exercising (I can only walk a few feet and must not over use my degenerated knees), still more to go - hopefully. A few months ago I started going to a Pain dr and switched from Morphine to Methadone, it's significantly cheaper and it works well for me, like all meds most of us have trial-and-error getting the right mix for us. Now, though I'm dealing w/a bout of depression - being severly sad and lonely and fear returning to antidepressants that are notorious for causing weight gain. Blessings to you all, Kathy in Central CA

Guest guest
Thanks for the info. Which meds did you use to substitute the ones that were causing weight gain? Aren't there any anti-depressants you can take that won't cause weight gain? Maybe you should try the herbal route first, like St. 's Wort, or something, for elevating your mood. I thought Methadone caused weight gain? phabricqueen@... wrote: >I rarely write, but keep you all in my prayers. This weight gain >issue is my burden too.
