Guest guest
Bev, Good to hear that you are coming along. I, too, have had many, many arthroscopies, with the first one giving anyone the indication of even possible RA. I had plenty of symptoms and saw plenty of specialists regarding my symptoms, but it was not until I blew out my knee and a surgeon, of all people, diagnosed it. I hope that is not your fate, but these orthos do a lot of cases and see a lot, so he may be pretty much on the money. When I was in the hospital earlier this year for my third bout of sepsis, the very first rheumaologist I ever went to and thought " all " I had even after the arthroscopy was a " little " FMS, well anyway she was covering for my rheumatologist, she could not believe that I was as sick as I was, not from only the sepsis, but from the RA and everything else. She could only stand by my bed and shake her head, boy was she a big help!!!!! We all know by now that " none of us look very sick " and that was her method of treatment. Don't put too much weight on that leg, but you are smart not to let it become too stiff. I made that mistake with my very first arthroscopy and had to go to PT and everything. Not a very pleasant experience for " Outpatient Surgery " . Have a good weekend and be EXTRA good to yourself, you deserve it! Guest guest
Thanks for letting us know that you got through your arthroscopy and are doing well, Bev. Sorry that your knee appears to have more damage than previously thought. Let us know what your doctor says at the follow-up appointment. Guest guest
Bev, It can be difficult to understand what the doctors tell us. I hope your knee feels better and you need no additional surgery. If you're worried about overdoing it, you can always call your doctor and ask if it's ok to be full weight bearing. a > I just wanted to update everyone on how things went with my arthroscopy on > 1/6/04. Guest guest
Hi Bev,.... I am sorry to hear about your knee update, that arthroscopy sounds rough. I am so scared of doctors. I also have a lot of problems with my knees also, my left one is the worst. I feel like sometime in the future I will have to have surgery. Before I was diagnosed with RA, I would tell my doctor about what was going on with my leg, and he wouldn't do anything. I am still not sure about it. Below the knee it will swell so much, I can't even pinch my skin. And it will feel numb, but have a weird pain also. It use to go on a lot when I worked, so I just thought it was because I was on my feet a lot. But, it will do it whether I am on my feet, or not. Now don't overdue it, and hurt yourself. Keep us posted, and I will be praying for you, take care Tawny > I just wanted to update everyone on how things went with my arthroscopy on > 1/6/04.
