Guest guest
Darin, I was dx with UC in 87 and then dx with PSC in 93. I didn't make it as far as you with my PSC. I wasn't able to keep taking the Actigall because it was so expensive. My first GI doctor said I wouldn't have gotten so sick so soon if I could have stayed on it. In Dec 99, I got so sick that I was hospitalized for over a week. I had been getting worse gradually. I started loosing my appetite during the summer of 99, and by Oct. I was vomiting every time I would eat. I had low grade fevers a lot plus my migraines had become more frequent. Not sure why PSC has any affect on migraines but in the research I've done some people seem to have more trouble with them. I've found that this disease can have numerous effects on the body. My main problem right now other than fatigue is my lower back and my legs. They hurt all the time. Especially, first thing in the morning. If I sit in one position or stand a long time I seem to get very stiff. And now since it's turned cold they ache even more. Do you experience any of this too? My last doctor didn't like the exercising that I was doing so I stopped it so he would get off my back. I was weight lifting. But I've noticed since I've stopped I feel worse. So I'm planning on starting back. I think it must help the circulation because my back and legs didn't bother me as much then. Beverly Mt Olive, NC UC dx 87 PSC dx 93 I posted a while back that my husband started with the headaches so bad that he was checked for everything and that was when the dx came back PSC. The leg cramps come and go with great pain but we have started an exercise program with lots of walking and some weights. Bob has progressed beautifully and when he does regress he has some muscle mass to draw on. We also have a vitamin regimen of multi, calcium, vit E, milk thistle , C and E. He has some trouble taking all these but being the nag I am he does. I also have cut salt from his diet, push water, water, water and buy him those fortified drinks with vitamins and minerals. I don't know if all it helps but he looks good and the fatique is not as bad as last winter. I am dreading the sunless days and am looking for a light that people use for SAD. Anyone know where to get these, I hear they are terribly expensive. Dee Peoria husb 58 illeo 65 psc
