Guest guest
Hi Deb, How are you today, any better? Has the weather changed in the last few days? The temp here has dropped 20 degrees from 77 yesterday to 55 today!! I have stayed inside where it is warm and haven't had much of a problem yet. I found these socks that are made my Nike, warm and soft knee highs that feel wonderful and are sooo warm!! I love them!! And they are tight enough not to fall down my scrawny little leg!! LOL As far as the MRI goes, they don't know what the painful lump is. He named some big long name but when I went for the MRI it didn't hurt so I probably pointed to the wrong spot. I don't know why they didn't xray a larger area. 2 of my doctors have found it but if it doesn't hurt I can't seem to find it. They said it is about 3 cms in size which is about 1 inch or so so it isn't small. Anyway, he gave me an injection of antiflammatories into the left thigh where the lump is and it is really sore!! I have never even injured my left leg, only used it excessively as my right leg has weakened and hurts all the time. When I stand up or sit down it is my left leg that I depend on and now it feels as though it wants to give sometimes from the pain in that lump. It wakes me up at night after a good day's bike ride or walking in the mall. I don't understand why these wonderful MRI's never show anything for me, not even torn tendons and ligaments!! The steroid injections seem to give me a fever and night sweats and keep me awake. These are normal side effects but that last one I got in the ankle last September (1999) I think went into a large vein in my ankle instead of the joint itself. That is the only way to explain the blood clot, swollen throat and excessive side effects that followed in the next few days. The doctor who gave me the injection said that is not possible but he also told me I have a HUGE vein running through my ankle capsule so I think it probably is possible. You know how doctors are though, hate to admit they could have done something wrong!! I have had 2 steroid injections into the ankle where the ortho hit the nerve and one admitted it but the second one didn't. It felt the same and the first one is who explained to me what happened told me he felt the shock through the needle!! It was strong enough to make him drop the needle!! Anyway, noone will ever know for sure and these last 2 steroid injections into the right shoulder have not produced serious side effects like that. So you are going to brave the acupuncture needles!! I have heard that it works great for relieving pain but not for me!! If you want to hear my experience I will tell you if you ask. Otherwise, it would be better to try it first and then ask! LOL I will never subject myself to that again!! I have been feeling completely drained and tired but since taking the vitamins and watching my diet more closely I am starting to perk up a bit. I still don't have any energy but then again I am not sleeping right now due to the steroid injection. A few more nights will change that though and the I am hoping to be feeling up to moving. I am going to call my mortgage broker Monday or Tuesday and get the ball rolling here now that I have decided which townhouse to buy. I am going to keep my son in the same school district so as not to upset his regime and social life. Things are starting to look up but there are still a lot of uncertainties in my future. I know I can survive but sometimes I wonder how. The wedding is over and done with now so we can relax a little!! My son is so handsome and looks so nice in a suit and tie! Of course, he only gets dressed up like that for weddings and funerals so I don't get to see him like that often. He certainly is becoming a fine young man and I am so proud of him!! We are having a lot of fun with my sister and niece and nephew! Her kids are so well behaved and happy!! When Caleb smiles his whole face lights up and he has a very expressive face!! They are sooo cute! That is what life is all about, family and friends and good times. Well, Deb, I hope you are feeling a little better at least and things are going well for you. Let me know how your acupuncture turns out. Take care, Debbie/DJ ________________________________________________________________ YOU'RE PAYING TOO MUCH FOR THE INTERNET!
