Guest guest
A belated welcome to the group, ! Sorry that you've had a bad week and that your knees are so painful. I hope the swimming helps you. You belong whether you know all the names. Many people here have fibromyalgia. Some may not feel up to writing, some may respond to you through the group, and others may choose to contact you privately. We do also have a chat feature at our group Web site: /chat You'll probably have to ask people to join you there at a specific time though. I'm sorry to hear about the death of your son. That's so sad. I'll tell you where to go! Guest guest
I've been buying some easy dinner meals from Schwan's frozen foods. By buying a little at a time and comparing prices, I'm finding the prices to be almost comparable to our local grocery store. Their food is great and so far everything I buy my family loves. My Schwan man is great. Yesterday I was going to by some prepared soups and he told me it was too expensive, not to waste my money on it. Schwans has come in very handy on those don't feel like getting a meal together days. I started out buying egg omelets and French toast sticks for the kids so they get a decent breakfast besides cereal all the time. I have a friend who works a lot of hours and she buys all of her food from Schwans, except bread and milk. She buys that at the corner quick shop. I don't know if Schwans is all over the country or not but there is probably something similar. They come to your door at a designated time every 2 weeks and you can choose then (sometimes they are out of things) or order ahead of time. They even bring it in and put it in your freezer for you! What a service! I can also order online and have it delivered on the regular delivery day. Here is their website: http://www.schwans.com/ Our school has something similar called Market Day but you have to pick it up in the school cafeteria, not convenient at all for me. Guest guest
I just looked on the website and the prices seem much higher than what I pay here. I didn't have much time to look through the whole site, though, so I'm wondering if they have some type of mail order that I was looking at. My favorites so far are the chicken pot pie and the pot roast. With the pot roast we need 3 bags if everyone here is eating. I have three teenagers and a 21 year old (only one girl in the bunch) so we are feeding 6 mostly huge eaters. If it's just my husband and myself one bag is enough to have leftovers for the next day. Yum! Kids love the omelets. They also have vegetables, pies, ice cream, juice, and meet such as steak, pork chops, etc. Those prices seem a little high to me but I have tried the steaks before and they were wonderful, much better cuts than I can usually find at our local grocery store. I am going for convenience and the ready made stuff works best for me. Something I also do when I do feel like cooking is to freeze a lot of my own TV dinners. I started that when my mother was ill and living with us and she would never eat right. I bought those Rubbermaid and Glad divided containers and froze all of her meals. I tend to overcook since we have such a houseful and always have something left over to freeze. If I am making spaghetti sauce, I will brown 5 pounds or more of ground beef, then freeze what I don't need. That way it saves time the next time when I need to brown meat. Sometimes, though, just going to the freezer in the garage to get a frozen meal takes too much effort...................... Guest guest
Dear , you are already one of the group and as far as being the eldest, I will be 73 this Sept. You don't have to remember all our names, it will come naturally to you as the days go by. Please feel at home here, we are rather a nice bunch to get to know. Hope you get some relief soon from the pain. Remember, age is only a number and not very important in the scheme of things. Guest guest
Becky, Thanks for the tip. I see the truck go by my house all the time but never knew if the stuff was any good. I am going online to order some easy dinners to have in the freezer for those times when I just can't do it. natesmom4@... wrote: I've been buying some easy dinner meals from Schwan's frozen foods. Guest guest
We had Schwan's chicken and dumplings last night. It was so good! My kids said it was almost as good as Aunt Esty's chicken and dumplings (their great aunt)! One bag was around $9.99 and it would serve two adults easily, maybe a little more.
