We really haven't heard much from Heidi since Fabien was born, Carol.

I'm sure she is busy as can be.

I miss her and think of her often, but, if she's trying to work, too,

she probably has very little time to be here.

I'll tell you where to go!

Has anyone heard from our Mommy in Mauritus? I was just curious how

Heidi

is doing and if she's still active in the group.

Hugs,

Carol

Hi ,

I thought that might be the case. She certainly has her hands full. After

all the trying, she must be enjoying Fabien immensely.

I hope you’re doing well. I’ve certainly missed you and everyone in the

group. Is a OK? I haven’t seen her post yet, although that’s not so

unusual. There are certainly a lot of new members. I hope the day comes

when there are no new members because RA is so well controlled that it’s

like having a cold or a sprained ankle. Until then, it’s great having a

place to come for advice, support, and friendship.

I’ve never experienced depression before, and had no idea just how crippling

it can be. At least we live in an age were we have biologics, SSRI’s, and

computers. I was doing some lobbying (by mail, not in person) for a bill to

support North Korean refugees in China (it’s a very sad situation) and I

realized how fortunate we are to have food, housing, freedom, and excellent

health care. It still didn’t help the depression, though. Strange thing,

depression is. It defies logic completely, and no matter how hard you try –

you can’t talk yourself out of it.

Love and hugs,

Carol

I've missed you, too, Carol.

I'm sure Heidi will check in again sometime. I was teasing her about not

having any free time until Fabien is in college, and she now believes

me, LOL.

As for a, she's had an extremely difficult time over the last

several months. She'll be back and posting as soon as she can.

It's great that you were trying to help the North Korean refugees. I

know that kind of endeavor can help put one's problems into perspective.

I work with a family of eight refugees from Afghanistan. They have been

through hell. And it's not easy for them here either.

Recognizing your depression is the first important step. We do have much

information and so many resources here for support and treatment. I'm

sure things will get better for you now that you are taking action. Of

course, we are all here to try to help you through it.

I'll tell you where to go!
