Guest guest
Hey all, it's been a while since I've been here. I've been busy taking care of my family issues and have forgotten all about the support I get here! For those of you who don't remember, i'm and was starting Plaqunil about 8 weeks ago. I have had bad stomach upset, but nothing I can't handle. (I've had IBS for years so this is nothing new to me.) I am supposed to take two pills a day, but haven't quite worked up to that yet. When my stomach starts to feel better I'll gradually increase the one pill I am taking to two every other day...Then two a day. Anyway--my 11 month old daughter was supposed to have her cataract removed yesterday, but gor a bad case of RSV and a double ear infection over the weekend, so we had to postpone it. I am taking her back in tomorrow to see if her breathing is improved enough to go ahead with the surgery. If not, we'll try again next week. Thanks for all of your support when I psoted a while back that I was concerned she got the cataract from the shot of kenalog I got while pregnant. The doctors have said pretty decisively that it wasn't that. They think she has neurofibromatosis-type 2. It is a disease that causes benign tumors to grow on your nerves--specifically auditory canal and brain. (She had an MRI under sedation that was normal) It is associated with a posterior subcapsular cataract--which is what she has. She also has some other signs, so I'm just taking it all in... So, I have been neglecting my friends here lately--sorry! I promise to become more active here when I get the chance. I am stressing big-time, having a flare, just got over a cold myself (still have that raspy voice), and so on and so forth. Good news is, I've been so busy I haven't had time to wallow in my own pain. Hope you are all well!!
Guest guest
Hi , Nice to meet you! I just started Plaquenil over the weekend and am having stomach issues also, but nothing I can't deal with. I wish you and family blessings dealing with other health issues and don't forget to take care of yourself. Take care. > Hey all, it's been a while since I've been here. Guest guest
, thanks for checking in. You are having one heck of a time. Maybe you should let your doctor know about the trouble you're having with the Plaquenil. I'm quite sorry about everything that's going on with your daughter . It must be so stressful. It's very good news that the MRI was normal. It's great, too, that she's being looked over from head to toe now rather than later. I'm sure her physicians will be monitoring her carefully and treating her appropriately. and you and your family are in my prayers for a very positive outcome all along the way! I'll tell you where to go! Mayo Clinic in Rochester http://www.mayoclinic.org/rochester s Hopkins Medicine http://www.hopkinsmedicine.org [ ] popping in--update (long) > Hey all, it's been a while since I've been here.
