Guest guest
hello Donna, I'm Boo. I too had taken everything and have a very aggresivive form of ra. Nothing worked. My doctor talked me into taking the treatment. It all most killed me. And did not help at all. It's quite the procedure. I was lucky in that the nurses that were working with me were wonderful. We had to travel 60 miles weekly so it was a real pain. It was a dangerous procedure for me. That doesn't mean that it would be the same for you. I'm in a wheel chair and have just had a real hard time finding anything that would work. Finally the Humira is working along with a supplement called sam- e.It's amazing the difference. If there are any questions I can answer let me know. Gentleness,Boo. Guest guest
How often do you have to do this? I've never heard of it. Becky [ ] Prosorba Column Hi For those interested....after 20 yrs and very severe RA, and out of desperation to obtain pain relief and save my hands, I am about to start the 12 weeks of apharesis via the Prosorba Column. If anyone has used this method to manage their immune disease, I would be very interested in hearing of your experience and of course any information would be greatly appreciated. I understand that it is considered a treatment similar to dialysis whereby it cleanses the blood of the nasty critters from RA, and hopefully helps slow down the RA. At present, my spleen is enlarged which is a complication of RA and it is time for something drastic. Keep me in your prayers. Guest guest
Yes, I am too. I don't recall anybody else here having this treatment. I hope that it gives you relief, Joanne. Guest guest
Hi I want to thank all of you who have offered your concern and support regarding me trying the Prosorba Column in the very near future. It appears to be a shot in the dark in some ways but honestly much safer ythan the many drugs I have taken...so wish me luck! And , as always, without the much needed information you have sent me, I wouldn't even consider such a treatment...so that you sooo very much... Of Interest for all who have long standing RA. My Rheumatologist at Hershey Medical Center has placed me on Plaquinil, not specifically as an antinflammatory but as a prophylactic measure to keep my heart in good shape. As you know, RA can and does affect the heart sometimes and this is a precautionary measure...Interesting.. I thank you all for your good wishes and prayers and hopefully wilI ill be able to keep you informed and have good results to pass on.
