If it weren't for stress, I'd have no energy at all.

The Wedding:

Attending a wedding for the first time, a little girl whispered to her mother,

" Why is the bride dressed in white? " " Because white is the color of happiness and

today is the happiest day of her life, " her mother tried to explain, keeping it

simple.The child thought about this for a moment, then said, " So, why's the

groom wearing black? "

Have you ever watched kids

On a merry-go-round

Or listened to the rain

lapping on the ground?

Ever followed a butterfly's erratic flight

Or gazed at the sun into the fading night?

You better slow down

Don't dance so fast

Time is short

The music won't last.

Do you run through each day on the fly?

When you ask " How are you? "

Do you hear the reply?

When the day is done,

Do you lie in your bed

With the next hundred chores

Running through your head?

You'd better slow down

Don't dance so fast

Time is short

The music won't last.

Ever told your child,

We'll do it tomorrow

And in your haste, not see his sorrow?

Ever lost touch,

Let a good friendship die

'Cause you never had time

To call and say " Hi " ?

You'd better slow down

Don't dance so fast

Time is short

The music won't last.

When you run so fast to get somewhere

You miss half the fun of getting there.

When you worry and hurry through your day,

It is like an unopened gift....

Thrown away...

Life is not a race.

Do take it slower

Hear the music

Before the song is over.

JUST DO SOMETHING

I once stopped behind several cars in an intersection. The winter weather

was icy cold and a strong artic wind blew relentlessly.

Ahead of me a young woman stood alongside the street rubbing

her bare hands together and dancing in place to keep warm.

Beside her rested a sign that read, " I have a baby and no food. "

She was obviously crying, likely from the pain of the cold wind.Homeless and

unemployed people are a common sight in many of our larger

cities,

and most motorists drive by without offering assistance. They have no doubt

been taught that giving money fosters a dependent lifestyle, or the ready

cash may be used to purchase alcohol or another substance rather than the

food it was intended for. Like me, they may have been taught that one should

give to a local charity or through one's church, as these institutions can help

those in need far more effectively.This, of course, is true, but I am reminded

of the college students who

encountered a homeless man on the sidewalk.

One of the students took a couple of dollars from his wallet and handed it

to the unfortunate stranger. His friend commented, " Why did you do that?

He's just going to spend it on booze or drugs. " The student answered, " Yeah and

like we're not! " As I waited for the light to turn, I felt conflicted about that

young woman.

Whether or not I should give money, she was obviously in need. And

whether or not she actually had a baby really didn't seem to matter.

I gave up guessing people's motives and analyzing their stories long ago.

It was cold. She was cold.

And she obviously felt she had to be there. On the other hand, I had no

such needs,

so I felt conflicted. What should I do? Give her money? What was best?As I

wrestled with these questions, the window rolled down from the car in

front of me and a hand shot out holding a warm pair of gloves. The driver

took her own gloves off and gave them to the shivering woman.

I saw the young woman mouth the words " Thank you " as a broad smile

lit up her face.I debated and the driver helped. I wanted to determine the BEST

way toassist and she did what she could. I did nothing. She did something.I made

myself a pledge that day to always do SOMETHING. Whether it isbig or small and

just do something. Any something is better than nothing!Educator Leo Buscaglia

said, " Too often we underestimate the power of

a touch, a smile, a kind word, a listening ear, an honest compliment,

or the smallest act of caring, all of which have the potential to turn

a life around. "

Don't underestimate what you CAN do! Each of us can do something,

and the something you do may be more important than you'll ever know.By Steve

LISTENING TO YOUR HEART

Do you ever wish you had a road map for living?

If only someone could occasionally show us a way to go, a direction to take,

we wouldn't feel so unsure of which path to pursue.

We think that, with only a little guidance, we'll surely end up in the right

place.

Passengers on a regular flight from Detroit to Tri-City Airport (which is

situated

between the Michigan cities of Saginaw, Bay City and Midland), must have felt a

little

more than lost during the flight attendant's greeting as their flight commenced.

She welcomed the passengers and stated that the destination would be Midland.

A few concerned passengers alerted her to the mistake, so the flight attendant,

obviously not familiar with the area, corrected herself by saying that they

would be

landing in " Tri-City " and Bay City.

Chuckles rippled along the aisle as she bravely tried again. This time she

informed

passengers that they would be landing in Saginaw. Now laughter broke out.

At that point, an authoritative voice came over the intercom and rescued her.

" I'm your pilot, folks, " he said, " and don't worry -- I know where we're going. "

It's nice when someone knows the way. And there is wisdom in seeking help

when necessary. Other people can be valuable resources.

But we cannot always depend on others for the important answers for living

our lives. In the end, nobody can point us to all the best solutions for life's

problems; nobody else can steer us along the path that is just right for us.

We find that way ourselves. We find the way by listening. Listening to our

hearts -- for the direction we need is almost always there, deep within.

So if you feel a bit lost, don't worry. This may be a perfect time to listen.

And remember -- your Pilot knows where you're going.

What you do today, might burn your XXX tomorrow. " author unknown

Somewhere, right now, the sun is shining brightly.

Somewhere, a new life is just beginning.

Somewhere, the power of love is triumphing over adversity.

Somewhere, at this very moment, a thousand thousand children are laughing.

Somewhere, someone who will never seek or receive credit for it is moving the

world positively and powerfully forward.

Somewhere, it is going on now.

If you could suddenly see all the good, valuable, positive things happening this

very moment, the sight would surely overwhelm you. And yet it goes on, day after

day, without fail.

For every disappointment, for every challenge, somewhere, somehow there is a way

beyond it. Know without a doubt that it's there, and you're already moving

toward it.

Somewhere there's a bright and shining place where you know you belong. With

faith, courage, commitment and persistence you'll surely see yourself there.

-- Ralph Marston

DAILY INSPIRATION:

Choose your friends carefully, looking for positive minded, enthusiasm, and

genuine love.

If you have negative friends you really love and don't want to lose, then simply

see less of them for the time being.

Never keep a friend because you feel pity or sympathy. Neither is a good basis

for friendship.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ DAILY
INSPIRATION:
To open yourself, even to people who are very close, is risky. Such is the
worldly teaching. That's why everybody has become closed.
Nobody opens one's petals fearlessly like a flower, dancing in the wind, and in
the rain, and in the sun... so fragile but without any fear. We are all living
with closed petals, afraid that if we open up we will become vulnerable.
The first step is, never pretend. Whatever the consequence, be true.
----------------
Inspiration:
----------------
" Just Because! "
Just because no one has been fortunate enough to realize what a gold mine you
are, doesn't mean you shine any less.
Just because no one has been smart enough to figure out that you can't be
topped, doesn't stop you from being the best.
Just because no one has come along to share your life, doesn't mean that day
isn't coming.
Just because no one has made this race worth while, doesn't give you permission
to stop running.
Just because no one has realized how much of a woman you are, doesn't mean they
can affect your femininity.
Just because no one has come to take the loneliness away, doesn't mean you have
to settle for a lower quality.
Just because no one has shown up who can love you on your level, doesn't mean
you have to sink to theirs.
Just because you deserve the very best there is, doesn't mean that life is
always fair.
Just because God is still preparing your king, doesn't mean that you're not
already a queen.
Just because your situation doesn't seem to be progressing right now, doesn't
mean you need to change a thing.
Keep shining,
Keep running,
Keep hoping,
Keep praying,
Keep being exactly what you are already:....
Choose Your Words Well
=======================
A certain good woman one day said something that hurt her best friend of many
years. She regretted it immediately and would have done anything to have taken
the words back. But they were said impulsively in a moment of thoughtlessness,
and as close as she and her friend were, she didn't consider the effects of her
words before hand.
What she said hurt the friend so much that this good woman was herself hurt for
the pain she caused. In her effort to undo what she had done, she went to an
older, wiser woman in the village, explained her situation, and asked for
advice.
The older woman listened patiently in an effort to determine just how sincere
the younger woman was, how far she was willing to go to correct the situation.
She explained that sometimes, in order to put things back in order, great
efforts must be made.
She then asked, " Just what would you be willing to do to repair the harm done? "
The answer was heartfelt. " Anything! "
Listening to her, the older woman sensed the younger woman's distress and knew
she must help her. She also knew she could never alleviate her pain by living
her life for her, but she could teach, if the younger woman would first listen
and then
learn.
She knew the outcome would depend solely on the character of the younger woman.
She said, " There are two things you need to do to make amends. The first of the
two is extremely difficult.
Tonight, take your best feather pillows and open a small hole in each one.
Then, before the sun rises, you must put a single feather on the doorstep of
each house in town.
When you are through, come back to me. If you've done the first thing
completely, I'll tell you the second. "
The young woman hurried home to prepare for her chore, even though the pillows
were very dear to her and very expensive.
All night long, she labored alone in the cold. She went from doorstep to
doorstep, taking care not to overlook a single house. Her fingers were frozen,
the wind was so sharp it caused her eyes to water, but she ran on through the
darkened streets,
thankful there was something she could do to put things back the way they once
were.
Finally as the sky was getting light, she placed the last feather on the steps
of the last house. Just as the sun rose, she returned to the older woman.
She was exhausted but relieved that her efforts would be ewarded.
" My pillows are empty. I placed a feather on the doorstep of each home. "
" Now, " said the wise woman, " Go back and refill your pillows. Then everything
will be as it was before. "
The young woman was stunned. " You know that's impossible! The wind blew away
each feather as fast as I placed them on the doorsteps! You didn't say I had to
get them back! If this is the second requirement, then things will never be the
same. "
" That's true, " said the older woman. " Never forget. Each of your words is like
a feather in the wind. Once spoken, no amount of effort, regardless how
heartfelt or sincere, can ever return them to your mouth. Choose your words
well and guard
them most of all in the presence of those you love. "
