Guest guest
Hi , Thank you for your response, I am sure that most people are tired of hearing about my knee. The ortho told Ron and Vickie that he saw no infection and when I had been in the hospital the week before, they DID do a culture and nothing grew. So I have to assume that there is NO infection, however, right now it looks like we are back on the same treadmill. Right now, I am not a happy camper. I see the ortho tomorrow and once again, I need some straight answers. The pain meds that he has me on (oxycontin 80mg (2 tabs, 3 times a day; Flexeril 10mg (1 tab every 8 hours and Percocet 7.5mg (1 or 2 tabs every 6 hours for breakthru pain), this " cocktail " barely touches the pain. I am exhausted from the surgery and I have yet to get a sound 6-8 hours of sleep primarily from the pain and this thing is just oozing all over the place. Well, tomorrow, hopefully I will get some answers. We are remodeling certain portions of the house to give the girls a game room and then get one of those Craftmatic beds so that I can get out of this hospital bed. I just thought that I would be so much further in my recovery than what I am. Very BIG disappointment. We have sent our medical records down to University of Miami for a consultation and we were told that any doctor taking over the case at this point would probably recommend above the knee amputation. At certain times, I AM ready for this HUGE step, but once it is gone, it is gone forever. My leg felt very tight, secure and strong for the first time in a long time. As of Saturday evening, my bones have once again started to move again and I was so sure that things were actually going in the right direction. Well, Vickie has become a full-time night student so that she can take care of me during the day and we don't have to hire outside help. God Bless Vickie.......I am so truly blessed for this wonderful child. Hope that you are weathering this winter OK. It has been unusually cold here, but it sure beats the snow that you guys get. Once again, thank you for your note and your love and concern. they are surely needed and welcomed at this time. I am definitely blessed to be able to call you my friend for these past few years. Gentle, tender, angel hugs and please stay WARM, Love, Debs in FL
Guest guest
Deb, I am so sorry you had to go through another surgery and hospital stay. I wish I knew the words to make it all go away. Sounds like me, you have wonderful children. I know I could not have gotten through all I had too without them. You remain in my prayers. Wishing you healthy and better days ahead.
