Guest guest
Hi all, Wow, these were great! Many I never had heard of although I did know a couple.. One more which I found by chance - ?? (Have to admit something about myself here which I'm not thrilled with, but hey; whatever, when you've been through so many medical tests and revealed so much already!) If you have dentures, why purchase the denture cleaner mixtures they sell when ... you can use a mixture of Hydrogen Peroxide and Baking Soda in a cup with them instead? I pout some baking soda on the bottom of the cup first. Then dentures; a thin coat of backing soda over this, then fill cup enough as to cover the dentures. I stir with a toothbrush and leave it overnight. Works like a charm. When the dentures are rinsed and fairly clean before being put in to soak overnight, I can at times use a mix more than once. I drink lots of tea; this gets tea stains of any food stains completely out! Also baking soda is great once in awhile in the shower with shampoo or with soap on the body; something of an exfoliant effect, although I think many people already have that one down. Quite good on the face as well for an exfoliant. Guest guest
If I can add one more to the list that I feel is important to realize. Most insecticides contain nerve agents that effectively 'turn on' the insect's nervous system full time; the insect dies from exhaustion. With those of us who have a neurological component (Mine are Peripheral and Small Nerve Fiber Neuropathies.) are especially at risk of side effects from these chemicals. I have found that a very effective ant killing and repelling compound can be made with liquid dish soap (Ivory, Dawn) and cinnamon oil mixed in a dilute solution with water. When sprayed on ants, the soap clings to their bodies and suffocates them. The cinnamon oil, and several other herbs that can be used, repel the ants from the area for at least a month. My brother uses it on outside ant problems at his house and the ants that are left alive do not come back for at least two weeks, even after rain storms. The solution can also be used with indoor pets, as the cinnamon oil discourages them from investigating. PS I also use baking soda, vinegar, and hydrogen peroxide in various combinations for many household chores. > > > > Source: Natural Solutions Environmental Inc. > > > > Here are 17 of the compounds you can make and try for yourself: > > > > (Note: When you are to use or mix with WATER, use Distilled or RO Water.) > > > > REMOVING MINERAL DEPOSITS (Hard Water) > > > > Vinegar is great for removing calcium deposit build up. > > > > 1) Soak shower head in vinegar overnight, then rinse in hot water, to remove water deposits and keep it flowing freely.
