Tess-

You are most definitely in my thoughts and prayers. A daughter of a friend of

mine had the same surgery and is doing just wonderfully. She is even working for

the surgeon's office who performed the procedure. This has been a long road for

you and prayers for safe and successful rest of the journey are here for you.

Hugs,

They are encouraging me to begin a post-op type eating plan now (lean

protein, lots of fruits & veggies, yogurt) as they like folks to drop 15

pounds or so prior to surgery to shrink the liver a bit.

The NP was great...we even talked about a VERY frightening

subject...growing attention from the opposite sex! YIKES! There were

some very serious subjects - a possibility of a day or two in ICU on a

I will be having the BPD/DS (biliopancreatic diversion with lateral

sleve gasectromy and duodenal switch) which makes your stomach about 4

ounces but keeps all the natural function of the stomach intact

including the pyloric valve. Then the small intestine is shortened to

cause some malabsorption. It will be an open, rather than laproscopic

Hello Tess,

" ...Well, it's a go!!!!!  I had my consult

yesterday.... "

i am sorry. i just caught on and up about your

surgery, i hope it goes fine for you. two of my

friends have had the same operation and are happy to

have done it. one is now getting plastic surgery to

remove the excess skin folds.

" ...we even talked about a VERY frightening

subject...growing attention from the opposite sex!

YIKES!... "

Yap! that is a tough one. i just lost 38 pounds and

am getting a bit more attention than before. It isn't

always easy to deal with. But, in time, and with the

help of loved ones, you'll get to see yourself

differently.

You have so much courage. I admire that.

Cheers!

Tess, Congratulations!!!

I have all my prayers and good wishes for a safe procedure and for your long

expected

results. You are a VERY strong woman who never gives up! I wish I had a

little bit of your spunk!!!!

I am going to close now as I have been much drugged out. Not too bad during

the day, but nighttime, they really bring out the big GUYS.

Thank you for your good wishes. I will be back on line soon.

Gentle, tender angel hugs to all,

Love, Debs in FL
