Guest guest
From the book " The Cake Mix Doctor..... " OOEY GOOEY BARS Crust: 1 package plain yellow cake mix 8 T. (1 stick) butter, melted 1 large egg Filling: 1 package (8ounces) cream cheese, room temperature 2 large eggs 1 teaspoon vanilla extract 8 T (2 stick) butter, melted 3 3/4 cups confectioners sugar, sifted (I use 3 to 3 1/4 cups) 1 package (6ounces) semisweet chocolate chips Preheat oven to 350, set aside an ungreased 13 by 9 " baking pan. For the crust, place the cake mix, melted butter, and egg in a large mixing bowl. Blend on low for 2 minutes. Stop and scrape down the sides of bowl with spatula. Batter should come together in a ball. Pat the batter evenly over the bottom of the pan until smooth. Set aside. For the filling, place the cream cheese in the same mixing bowl (no need to clean) and blend on low until fluffy. Stop and add the eggs, vanilla, and melted butter and beat for 1 minute on medium Stop and add confectioners. sugar. Beat until sugar is well incorporated. Place the chocolate chips in a small pan over low heat. Heat, stirring, until the chips are melted. Measure out 1 cup of the cream cheese filling and fold it into the chocolate mixture until well combined. Set aside. Pour the remaining filling onto the crust and spread with the spatula so that the filling covers the entire surface and reaches the sides of the pan. Drop spoonfuls of the chocolate batter over the top of the filling then swirl them with a dinner knife so the top of the batter has a marbled effect. Don't cut through the crust. Place in oven. Bake until well browned but the center still jiggles when you shake the pan...45 to 47 minutes. Remove the pan and place it on a wire rack to cool 30 minutes. They taste good a couple of hours out of the oven but even better the next day! ~ " We all take different paths in life, but no matter where we go, we take a little of each other everywhere.
