Guest guest Posted February 20, 2004 Report Share Posted February 20, 2004 My step-son charlie who is 15 and has CP plus severe learning disabilities... seems to be regressing in school....he is in high school this yr...in grade 9...can not complete multiplation work for grade... uhhmm i would ssay about 5or 6 he cannot read dr suess books without a great deal of assistance... although the teacher says he can... i dont know what his teacher is thinking,,, we have a parent teacher conference.. next friday... when he comes home from school...he doesnt know what papers are homework and what papers are done and can just be put away or thrown out... I dont know how to help him... hopefully the parent -teacher conference will shed some light on the situation... but at the moment i am beside myself.... and to boot, he came home from school yesterday, with a demerit slip.... 3 demerit points for 'throwing food in the cafeteria'.... this is the 2nd demerit slip in about 2 months.... i want to understand CP better but i cant find much info on it on the net.. and hoe to help him... i am very fusterated...if dealing with my heath wasnt enough!!!!
