Sue,

I inject my enbrel on Tuesday and Friday. I called and it appears most

inject on either Tuesday/Friday or Monday/Thursday. I have never tried the

every 4

days. That would be too confusing as the day of the week would be constantly

changing. Then it might overlap and fall on the same day as my MTX

injection.

I am curious as I heard of people taking enbrel injection three times a week.

I am no getting enough of a reponse so i wish I could take it three times a

week. I might ask my doc at next visit about that.

As far as once a week dosing. I heard about it and my doc said it would be

fine it I wanted to take both shots the same day of week..but I said no. I

prefer twice a week coverage the drug gives. Since it really seems to be doing

nothing for my joints it does seem to give me energy that last for at least a

day or two if I am lucky after the injection.

As far as premixed or not. I would prefer the none mixed version like it

currently comes in. Anytime you get meds premixed like that they require a

preservative additive. Which seems to be causing all the burning when you

inject

with Humiera. So I don't mind mixing myself if I can avoid another

preservative.

If you read the package on dosing for children...the vial can be multi dose

anyway. I do not remember the amount of time in the frig...I think it is good

for 7-14 days but don't quote me on that one.

My only wish is a thinner needle. I know they just went to 27 ga needle..but

I use 29 or 30ga for my MTX injections which is so much nicer. I have

started mixing it using the neeedle included and drawing it up in 29 or 30ga

insulin

syringe. It makes so much of a difference..no more bruises.

Sue,

I have been doing 2 injections once a week for about a month now. For me, it is

easier and I have noticed nothing different in the way I feel-no better - no

worse!!! I also do the mtx. at the same time-my rheumy said it was okay so I do

all 3 at once.

He said that later in the year Enbrel will be making changes in the way

it is done. It will come with a week's worth in the same vial and will

even be premixed! He said that they are trying to be more competitive

since Humira has come out.

That is good news for all of us Enbrel users.
