Guest guest
Hi All, Just got off the phone with my Neurologist...he's the Dr. who after I brought him a second opinion which said I needed treatment for LD, decided that HE should be the one to treat me. His treatment; 3 weeks of 100 mg. of Doxy 2x a day (now finished). Why did I agree to this? Because I couldn't see the new LLMD until tomorrow. Now he tells me that he is going away for the summer and that since his associates are booked until Sept., that I " should be fine " until then even though I told him that now the right side of my face is starting to get numb just like the left side!!!! He said that I did my 3 weeks of Doxy and that we needed a few months to see " how I would feel " , but he said that I would be fine! I laughed ... I had tried before to educate him, but nothing sank in. A word to the wise: STAY AWAY FROM THE DEPT. OF NEUROLOGY AT STONY BROOK! I am very forunate to have an app't. with a highly regarded LLMD tomorrow. I pray that he will help me. I'll let you know.... ....a very frustrated Joan

Im glad you have the appt. with the LLD tomorrow. Let us know how it goes. Sometimes all I can do is shake my head in amazement at the complete disregard these docs have for pts. What ever happenend to the oath they took? Obviously just words to them. Guest guest
Hi Joan, So sorry you had such a jerk of a neurologist, but when I saw he was from Stoney Brook, it made perfect sense. They are notorious for undertreating Lyme, sending you on your way with something other than Lyme disease. I am so grateful you will see someone today who understands Lyme disease, let us know how you make out. I bet you will be pleasantly surprised at the difference in treatment. Hugs, From: Namkrats3@... Guest guest
Ive been in cars I tho_ght m_st have mold growing in ac or elsewhere. Someone gave me a ride short distance and I opened the window and j_st abo_t h_ng m_ head o_t their window. Car was from Phoenix...some place I'm s_re the a/c was going all the time! Also interesting is both the driver and her h_sband had had cancer recentl_. She s_rvived it. He didn't. She kept his car and sold hers and it was his car we were in. I was tempted to leap from the car b_t ride was onl_ short distance! . > > I think from my own experience, and I did cross contaminate my car, that the smell would not be the smell of mold growth but the smell of > a earthy, dirt smell. and thats more about actually putting stuff in your car from your WDB that has dry mold dust that than viberates off of the objects while in your car. thats how I cross contaminated my car. it didn't smell anything like mold that was growing, to totally different smells. problem was that I couldn't tolerate my car and couldn't tolerate the cleaners or much of anything else that might be used to try cleaning it. Guest guest
Yes, also the ac, yes, I've had to turn the vents from blowing in my face, and still end up sticking my head out the window for air. some are really bad. > > Ive been in cars I tho_ght m_st have mold growing in ac or elsewhere.
