Guest guest
Debs, You are in my personal prayers. I, too, have had osteomyelitis - in the next to the littlest toe. They inserted a pic line and had vancomycin for 6 weeks. This involved a computerized input system set up on a small watch, and a fanny pack to carry the meds and computer and extra tubing. Once a week I had to have blood level tests before and after the input of medication by the computer. I also had to meet with the P.A. once per week to have the computer checked, receive more medication(frozen bags), and inspection of the pic line, after that I would meed with the Dr. This sounds involved, but after I got used to the routine it really wasn't too terrible bad, especially since I knew it would only be for 6 weeks. Don't know how they will set up your treatment routine, but this is how it was for me. I truly wish you Gods Speed in your recovery. Gentle Hugs & Prayers, Carol M. in CA
