Guest guest
My doc just gave me an RX for it, for anxiety, because I'm going to quit smoking. Can you tell me if you've been on it, what are/were your side effects from it. Thanks, Leigh
Guest guest
I took it one time for anxiety and it did me quite well. the only side effects i had was drowsiness. i tried only to take it at night if at all possible. By the way congrats for trying to quit. i have a box of patches in my kitchen and dont have the nerve to put one on. let me know how you are doing. I would have a ton more money if i would quit and i know that. good luck connie (and probably a few more years also) my kids beg me to quit) Subject: Clonazepam cloggirl1 wrote: Can you tell me if you've been on it, what are/were your side effects from it. Guest guest
HI leigh Clonazepam /Klonopin is a long acting benzodiazapine the same class of medcation as Valuim and Xanax . it is used more c often because it is slow acting and longlasting it is much more potent than diazepam (Valuim). But has less side effects and though it cuases tolerance . It is used for a number of condtions from seizures, pani disorder , uncontrolable stess, neuromuscular pain and muscle spasms or twitches . relstlessleg syndrome and neuropathy . It will probably help you relax a bit though not as fast or as stongly felt as Xanax is both are reasonbly safe drugs that have been helpful for pain paitnets al;ong with diazepam, and Ativan /Lorazepam . All are relativley inexspensive generically though if you are on medicares part D they are not covered no thanks to the anti drug prohibtionists yet many elderly anddiasbled peopledep3nd on them to get through the day with out a painc attack or pain associated with muscle tension and that so often comes with many condtions that casue cronic pain this is just plain cruel and misguided to deny them assisitance to pay for a needed med. Weare now " discovering " trhat medicinces we once thought highly " addictive " are not narcotic pain relievers and benzodiazepins being just tweo . and drugs that are safe simply becase they do not produce a high are now being seen for the dangerous substances they are see NSIASDs such as ibuprohen and Acetaminophen which damge the gi tract kidneys reanl system and liver repstivly and the renalk system with both . or the COX 2 inhibitors that cuase myocardail infartions and strokes along with GI bleeding nice Ill take drowsynessand constiption over all that any time .
