Lynn, I just wanted to say that I came down here to Florida too, after several

disasters in my family in my original home-state (including our house burning

down)

I have found it to be just like you said btw too. :-)

If we'd had time to plan, we would have gone to South Florida, as I believe it's

more comfortable for someone like me in political, social and other matters. My

husband had lived in Ft Myers as a kind and I'd been there to visit.

And that's where we probably will still move to.. Though not Ft Myers, probably

Tampa if we stay in Florida.

My husband is fine with it...but for me, it's way too hot and humid and I'm

miserable.

I have a question Lynn, I thought you might know the answer(?).

I applied for and finally receive SSD in New York (city).

I need to change my address and my direct deposit to a bank to down here.

But if I'm ever up for an re-evaluation (I have semi-permanent disabilty, and

have been reviewed by mail only so far) I'm afraid of how things are here. The

sheriffs here have closed down pain mgt clinics just because they decided it was

a legal problem not a medical issue.

I know the SSA is federal, not state-by-state but I'm still concerned that the

judge or even an attorney would be a lot different than I experienced back in

NY.

After all, judges, attorneys, doctors etc are still human beings with their own

views on things.

It hasn't happened and I'm not going to make myself sick over something that

isn't happening in the present.

But I'd like to know more and still be prepared if necessary.

Do you know anything at all bout that?

Thanks for reading...:-)

K.

Re: Adrenal Fatigue, etc.

Rita,

Sorry I am so late in responding to your post....

Sometimes, I feel lonely---and need to be reminded how much easier it is for ME

to be living alone....and not trying to meet someone else's expectations.  I had

to retire on disability 10 years ago when I was 51....and I also moved from cold

weather to hot in FL--thinking that it would help my FMS symtoms.  Little did I

realize--that once retired....I wouldn't feel like I have ANY meaning and

purpose to my life.....and have been struggling to find it.  It is hard at our

age---especially when work USED to be my entire life.  I can't seem to develop

many outside interests---OR meet people of " like mind " .  I used to be very

active politically---and it seems as though I have moved to a strong-hold of R's

(sorry)....so, now I have my house up for sale--and once sold...will try further

South in Fl.  The stress of showing the house....amazes me---since I need to

keep it ultra clean!

I did rescue a five pound Yorkie---named her Hillary Rodham--so, that DO
