That's why it is important to treat it. I know a lot about mental illnesses including depression due to experience personally, with family, and as a psychiatric nurse. It's a tired old comparison, but if you are diabetic you take the insulin you need to live, and if you have depression it's important to treat that to live. One thing I don't know if you are aware of-there is a theory that says that the more times a person is depressed the more times they will be depressed. It's the same with mania. Think of a path from walking through your yard. The first time the grass barely lays down. But the more times you walk on that path, you wear it into the grass. There are many who think it is the same with clinical depression. The more times you have an untreated depression, the more likely you are to have it again and the worse it might be-it wears a " path " in your brain they think. Just another reason to take it seriously and treat it if appropriate. So please don't worry about trying to " pull yourself up by your bootstraps " or any of that old-fashioned judgemental crap. If you feel you need treatment, then you need it, and you deserve it. So get it!!! :>) I hope you feel better soon. Cary
