Guest guest
I've posted this website on my weblist but thought I would repost it because of the clean, simple way in which bleeding due to a variety of uterine conditions is presented. http://www.gynalternatives.com/causes.htm I wouldn't ordinarily point women to this website because much of what this doctor writes really pisses me off. He is condescending, patriarchal and prone to making assumptions that, I believe, he really knows little to nothing about. And, since he is a gyn with quite a paper trail of training and affiliations, he can come off sounding as though he's quite the knowledgable expert. However, if you find yourself thinking his website looks pretty slick, consider the following: 1. No mention of HRT or impact of hormonal imbalances post hysterectomy. He writes about " depression " post-procedure as though it was " all-in-the-head " and probably a problem pre-procedure. 2. His discussion regarding sex/orgasm post-hysterectomy is seriously lacking in a more complete look at the research that has been done. Granted, there hasn't been a LOT of research, but there has definitely been more than what he references. And, he doesn't even begin to accept the possibility of a " uterine orgasm " . . .Again, lots of references to controlling one's sex life via " your head " . . . 3. He doesn't even mention UAE even though it has clearly been around for awhile and was around when his website was created. He DOES, however, mention endometrial ablation, which is a procedure he CAN benefit from performing. . . Nonetheless, I would still recommend a visit to this website simply because of the very easy to understand explanations of uterine conditions. cheers carla mailto:cdionne@... Guest guest
Carla, Thanks for the link! There is some great information here re adenomyosis. I talked with my sister this morning and found out that she was diagnosed with this 12 years ago! Now I am concerned that my transmural fibroid 7cm (as told by the ultrasound) is adenomyosis OR I have BOTH a fibroid AND andenomyosis. HELP! Does anyone know if adenomyosis can be genetic? And.... based upon Dr. Indman's website, it appears they can be found together but treatment is different for both. Does that mean ablation and myomectomy? Having some fun now. Guest guest
Thanks for the link, Carla. This site does mention UAE as a possible treatment for fibroids. If you click on fibroids, you will find it. I agree with you that it does contain quite a bit of info. that can be helpful. Thanks for the info. Guest guest
Another interesting link. www.netreach.net/company/hysterectomyedu/ the FIRST website that I have seen from a Doctor (male, too!) that addresses the real complications from hysterectomy and gives many other alternatives for multiple issues. Advocates uterine retention unless cancer is present. The only thing he does NOT address at ALL is UAE. Some great info though, for what it is worth!
