Guest guest
I need to check on calcium specs and don't have time right now. I believe a difference is how various forms of calcium are absorbed -- some have the advantage of being absorbed easily under any conditions. I can't remember exactly, but writing this will be a reminder to me to look up the specifics. Guest guest
I have to leave the house in a minute, no time for looking up information. I think you should discuss it with your doctor. Problems with the palms of one's hands are very much related to liver disease, so the soles of the feet might be, too. I can't think of the word for red, peeling palms -- can anyone fill in the blank? I did a Google search and find no substantial linkages of the two. Excessive Vitamin A is mentioned -- I think those of us with liver disease are to avoid too much Vitamin A -- but I didn't get the idea that was very likely to be a major cause. You'll want to do your own investigating, of course. I would certainly mention any oddity (like this) to his doctor, no matter how trivial it seems. Incidentally, to help you with searches, "desquamation" is the technical term for shedding skin. Guest guest
Do you understand how very, very serious osteoporosis is and how hard it is to treat? I'm not saying this sarcastically or in a belittling way. Please be sure you know the possible consequences of a decision to forego taking Fosamax or similar drugs for bone loss. I know of one person, a young athlete, who had a double hip replacement after taking Prednisone; this was just before Fosamax became available. Another person who used to be in our group had to wear maternity clothes and a "corset" because her ribs gave out. She lost several inches in height. This is not stuff to fool around with. Please think carefully about this choice. Best wishes. Harper In a message dated 2/5/05 2:03:00 AM, writes: It is an inconvenience to me that I do not want nor have to deal with. I've got too many other problems (medical and otherwise) to add another source of stress.
