Hi Laurie,

We just kind of gave away all of our canned foods - soups as well.

There are some low-sodium broths and we use those as a base sometimes,

but, pretty much make homemade soups. There are some soups out there

that say low-sodium, but, even those are not very low - 400 mg. We

love chicken and minestrone soups.

We've been lucky to find some low-sodium lunch meats too. I can't

think of the brand names - I'm at work, but, I'll get back to you. One

thing that really helped is we bought a book that has all of the sodium

content in everything - and it lists a lot of brand named foods. I'll

get you the name of that as well. He's been writing everything down

and has kept it under 2000 mg. pretty easily.

I know lunch is a tough one. He has cereal most mornings and found

that Kelloggs Frosted Flakes are pretty low sodium. For lunch he'll

either have leftovers or something like lettuce leaves with tuna (you

can get low-sodium tuna also). But when he goes back to work he'll

have to get something quick. Breads are tough - they add up quickly.

We've switched from canned veggies to frozen - they usually have zero

sodium compared to say, canned string beans which have 400 mg.

Good luck,

Gracie
