Guest guest
I just returned from Japan where I visited a number of tx recipients and physicians who deal with patients with Liver disease. It was extremely interesting. I met the only Japanese person to have had two liver tx. His original disease was PSC. His first tx was a partial liver from his mother. He required a second tx because of either recurrence of PSC or rejection (it wasn't clear to his physicians). Obviously his mother was not his donor the second time. le, I know a number of Ontario's best Hepatoligists as I review clinical trials for immunosuppressants we take after transplantation. Email me privately and let me know where you live and I can give you some suggestions. C -reactive protein is a non-specific marker of inflammation. I really doesn't help in our disease but in others, for instance, arthritis it can aide in saying that the disease is either flaring or going into remission. However, in most diseases the patient already knows from thier symptoms. Neomycin is a non-absorble antibiotic. It causes diarrhea and also knocks off a fair amount of the colon bacteria reducing the ammonia levels in your blood. Biddy, the leg pain you're experiencing may be due to electrolyte imbalance caused by the diarrhea. That should be checked via a blood test. Soon. It has taken me two days to go through the email for PSC Support in digest format. It isn't the number of messages that is the problem. I would like to again ask my fellow members to refrain from quoting previous messages as some of your posts include 4 or 5 previous messages quoted by the last person. And some of these messages are up to 7 pages long. It's not really necessary and bogs down the system and the reading. And frankly, I may have to quite this list, despite my enjoyment of being 'with' my fellow PSCers because it's just to much work to go through all these long emails. In this case, because I subscribe by digest, filters will not help. They wouldn't help if I subscribed to single emails either. I'm sure I'm not the only one frustrated by this situation. Please think of others when you decide to submit a post to our list. Aubrey
