I have been reading the Tess post's avidly, my husband went thru the

drill for the same surgery and was told from 1 to 4 days in ICU

depending as the first 4 days to week are the most dangerous...I was

glad to see a finally got a chance to talk to her. I had planned

on waiting 4-5 days before even trying so she would have a chance to

be feeling a little more Tessie. I know after her hysto she was

kinda weak in the first days after.....I am really excited right now

I have been accepted to take a shot at my masters in sociology,

counseling is always what I wanted, but with raising 3 kiddo's the

dream got lost some where in the raising and geriatric rec

specialist job....My new motto the little engine that could, and I

am gonna give this my best shot...the university is going above

expectation and making all kinds of allowances and arrangements for

my different problems..My husband is kinda upset, but my feeling is

he'll get over it. I realize I can't do it all, but somethings can

just slide....the univ. has said on the really bad days I can do it

from computer, or make up.... I have been going over and over this

and finally decided I have gotta give it a try....worse case I

can't, but I gotta try....at 46 probably gonna the oldest...LOL

Any thoughts, advise????? And please a few fingers crossed??

Tawny...2 things.. Is your birthday the 23 of this month?...I caught

that or thought I did because mine was the 23 of March...so exactly

a month apart..in months that is LOL....next question..Is there a

Thai

restaurant in OKC..I have been craving it and of course here it is

beef,burned,fryed barbacue.....and I want..... thai...i am dreaming

of it

LOL.....hugs to all...Kathi in OK

PSSSS.... I could have sworn you had more hair the last pictures

I saw....and I thought you said NO meds for you ;.}

Kathi, go for it, don't let anyone talk you out of it, I know you can do it. I

had my BA early on but I was 45 yrs old when I got my Honors. It took over a

period of three years because I was also working at the time. It brought me

great satisfaction and my family learned to live with a little less attention,

as a matter of fact it was good for them, made them appreciate me more LOL. I

just wish in those days I could have done some of it on a computer.

Hugs

Kathi in OK

Yes Kathi, my birthday is the 23rd of April, I will be 41, I still

can't believe it. Everyone's already teasing me about my age,lol

Their hiding presents in the attic, they know I can't get up there.

My hubby already gave me a beautiful necklace. It's 4 blocks that

spell out LOVE, and then on the other side is diamonds, it's great.

He knew he had to give me something, or I would be trying to climb up

in the attic and take a peak, I'm satisfied for now,lol

Oh Kathi, I think that is so wonderful for you to continue your

dream, you go girl. Your hubby will get over it, we will all be

behind you. I will keep you in my prayers.

Oh yes, there are so many Thai restaurants here in Oklahoma city.

Have you checked out Bricktown lately, oh it's so beautiful at

night? You take care of yourself, and I am so happy for you my

friend, hugs Tawny

Congratulations, Kathi! My advice: go for that degree. That's very

exciting news. It's great that the school is being so helpful. Your

husband will be fine. MeMom should have a lot of tips for you.

I love Thai food. We have a very good, small Thai restaurant about 10

minutes away. They had a bad fire a few weeks ago. I hope they are back

open now because you have given me a craving.

OK, so that photo wasn't of me. I still have a lot of hair. Much grayer

since that last photo you saw. I think two teen drivers and having one

of them now in college have aged me.

A belated happy birthday to you!

I'll tell you where to go!

Me, too! Full time to get my nursing degree-ADN-and now ever since then

part time to transfer into a master's program. It is hard work, I have a son at

home who is a teenager, I am a single mom with a mortgage and no child

support, but I love going to school. It really gives you a goal and makes you

feel

smarter...I highly recommend it! Cary

Hi Kathi,

is right, I have been in school for awhile. I would tell you

hands down go for your degree. Go to the Department for students with

handicaps and they will help you, if you need any assistance. I only have

two more classes to take for my degree. However, my degree will only be an

associates degree. I have also earned a certificate in historic

preservation. It is has been an interesting and rewarding experience going

to school. I would recommend it to anyone. Good luck,
