Guest guest
Terry I also have arthritis in my neck....don't know where I don't have arthritis, but one thing I have noticed is that healthy people think you have been in an accident if they see you with a brace on. Can't tell you how many times a stranger has walked up to me and made the comment of " Oh you were in an accident are you ok? " I tell them it is arthritis and they look embarrased. Yet when I see someone with a brace on I think, Oh, poor woman/guy they have arthritis. I know what they are going through. It never dawns on me that they may have been in an accident. I guess it just depends on your personal life experiences. in Ct. -----Original Message----- From: terryperrella [mailto:terryperrella@...] This group was the best help to understanding when I joined 2 years ago. The hundreds of people I work with most never knew until this week. Tuesday I had to go to the emergency room because the RA had shooting pains in my neck and they had to do shots up and down my neck. When I came in I had a brace and everyone thought I was in an auto accident but I explained the RA and everyone took it pretty well. The key here was the brace. They could see it and were surprised I have had this for several years. Maybe if you rented a wheel chair and kept it by the front door he'd understand or give him my email and I'll try to explain a horrible case of the flu that never goes away.
