Carol, I have thought of Esther so many times and how brave she is. Since we

have so many new members, I think they would benefit from hearing Esther;s

story. If you find you don't have time, could you just write a short email

letting us know how Esther is doing. I still have her picture to remind me what

a fighter she is and the continuing support you have given her over the years.

Please give her a hug from this old lady.

Hugs

June

Oh, June how sweet of you!

Esther is doing fine. She had a total knee revision done last May.....the

original one was done

when she was just 13. ...so, now she has a " newer model " LOL (she is 34 now)

Then in Jan. she had an ankle fusion done on the same leg in which she had the

knee revision.

We needed to have that done so that she could help stand-pivot from her

wheelchair. The

knee was great but the ankle prevented her from transferring. The older

she gets the older we get LOL and is hard to lift her. She is still wearing a

boot type

cast (can be removed) on that but everything is healing nicely. That surgery

was a little

tough on her because for about 8 weeks she was either bed-bound or sitting in

lounge chair.

And, she loves to stay busy!

She is now back to work, working 3 days a week as a teacher's aide for an

after-school

options program for mentally challenged children. The children really missed

her when she

was off.

She is hardly on the computer anymore. I try to keep up with reading some

posts. I think of

Debs often as Esther too lost a knee replacement to infection several years ago.

(she

almost died then) She now doesn't have a knee in her right leg. I was

surprised that Debs

doctor's did surgery so soon after she lost the replacement because after

Esther lost her's

she had to be on IV antibiotics for one whole year. She also lost a hip a

couple of years ago due

to infection but wasn't as sick with that. The floppy leg.....as they call

it.....is just fine though.

It still bends and she has no pain. One just can't bear weight on it.

Well, didn't mean to write a book, LOL Blessings to you June ......I always

enjoy reading

your posts. Hi, to you too a. Glad you are all moved in now. Hope the

warm weather

helps you! We are suppose to have snow flurries this Sunday night into

Monday.....see what

ya left behind? LOL

Love,

Carol....Esther's Mom

Carol,

I¹m really sorry I missed those snow flakes LOL! Esther being to busy to

be on the computer is great.

I¹m so happy to hear that she is back to work and doing well. When I find a

doctor, I¹m going to have

to borrow some courage from Esther and get my ankle fused. It¹s worse than

ever from being abused

while moving. Hopefully it will calm down, but somehow I don¹t think so.

Please give Esther a hug for me.
