Guest guest
Recently, colorado changed a few laws and now, when someone asks for a copy of a traffic accident , unless they are 1) the driver involved or 2) the owner of the vehicle,or 3) insurance company for 1 or 2, all information about the drivers, passengers, the vehicle (license & vin) and insurance information MUST be blocked from the released copy. It sure is a pita for the records folks having to blank all that out and then still charge 2$ for a report that usually is just a narrative and diagram. and reference costs.... if it's a huge accident (fatal or hazmat), an additional 10$ is charged for the investigation report, and photos are 5$ each. And don't you just love those calls of people asking about registered sex offenders? If I had a dollar for everytime I heard " s Law " said on the phone, I could retire. We'll give you a copy of the list, but you have to come and get it (mon-fri 8am-5pm when records is open) and you have to show us that you live in the city. We DON;t HAVE to provide that to people who have no need to know... of course, if you say " I'm thinking of buying a house in xyz neighborhood " .. we'll give it to you too.
