Guest guest
Yes, I had an extremely bad day today. First I had to go to the dentist to get a tooth filled. That alone would have made it a bad day. But that was only the beginning. When I got home, I decided to work outside since it was a beautiful warm day. I got up some leaves and then decided that I'd throw this old rotten railroad tie into the pond to get rid of it. I picked it up and since it was a little heavy, I wanted to give it a good heave-ho so that it would go all the way into the pond. Somehow I managed to heave myself into the pond along with the piece of wood. I don't know how in the world I accomplished this, but all of a sudden I knew that I was on my way in and could not possibly stop my impending doom. I can't swim, by the way. My head went completely under the water, and of course I got it above water as soon as I could. I tried to get out, but the pocket of my pants was snagged on the wood. I finally got it loose and crawled up onto the bank. I was completely waterlogged, but worse than that, my knee was injured. I must have landed on a rock on the bottom of the pond. I hobbled to the house and went in through the basement. I took off all of my clothes except bra and panties so as not to get too much water all over the floors. When I got to the utility room, I took the bra and panties off, too, and then paraded naked to the shower. Luckily no one else was around. I had already had a shower but badly needed another one. By this time, I had a big goose egg on my knee. I put ice on it after I got dressed. That helped the pain a little, but it still hurts a lot. The knee is twice as big as the other one now. That's all a person with RA and OA needs, to injure a knee like this. I hope it will heal quickly and not give me a lot of trouble in the future. But some days it just doesn't pay to get out of bed.
