Guest guest
Hello, I am wondering if anyone has a good handout that may include good choices for truck drivers to make on the road. I used to have a great handout but cannot find it anywhere. If anyone has anything of this nature and is willing to share I would be so greatful! You can e-mail me privately if you prefer. Guest guest
I have never worked with truck drivers, BUT I did work with railroad workers/train drivers. Some of the biggest helps for them were anything on restaurant eating, primarily fast-foods, tips for convenience store snacks/sometimes meals, and of course, alcohol guidelines. ~Jillian McMullen, RD, LD/N Nutrition Consultant www.jillianrd.com Connor wrote: In one of my jobs as a hospital dietitian, I saw truck drivers as outpatients. I learned that many who are long distance drivers have mini refrigerators and microwaves. Ask questions about how they eat, where they eat, and what they eat. I am not sure it is practical to have a one size fits all list. Talk to the patient and find out what he/she likes, is willing to try/eat, and what he/she has available to him/her in the truck. Then, make a list as a result of the open-ended questions and answers provided. Hope this helps! Connor, MS,RD,LD __________________________________________________________ Never miss a thing.
