Guest guest
I am sorry but I have to have larger print so I can see what I am writing. I went to the doctor last week and his only help was to pat me on the legs and tell me to quit stressing out. Like I can just do that. I don't remember if I have written to you since then or not, these meds have my memory all messed up so I am sorry if I am repeating myself. So anyway the doctor had his nurse give my a shot of stadol and phenergren which knocked me out for over 20 hours right off the bat, then I slept for another 10 or so hours. But my migraine was gone. And now it is back. Can't win for losing. [] But please believe me I am not complaining yet. At least about the headaches, guess I have learned to live with them. [] I have learned as soon as one starts I close all my drapes and blinds and get the room as dark as possible. Try to get everyone in the house to whisper, which is hard as my dad is very hard of hearing and will not wear a hearing aide. But they try so what can I say. [:-$] .. I have gone from the cane to the walker, my choice, and when I get a drivers license for the thing, will have it made. I can run into things that are not anywhere close to me. Hope I don't destroy my house before I learn to use the thing. The doctor's appointment was last Thrusday I believe, and after the affects from the shot wore off, I have felt so very bad. I hurt where I didn't even know I could hurt. Now I have to sleep on a very large heating pad so I don't have the muscle spasms in my back and upper legs. But at least it has cooled down here in SW Arkansas at night. 50's for the nights and 80's for days. I know I seem to be prattling but I just need someone to listen to me and understand what I am talking about. I was so hurt by my doctor's attitude last week. He has never done that to me before. And I have been seeing him for 7 years. He wants me to see a neurologist asap because of the headaches and me falling all the time. That is a wonderful idea but for one thing. I do not have insurance or any medical help of any kind and this place he wants me to go to has a big sign as soon as you walk in the door that if you don't have insurance you have to pay cash. Guess I am going to have to apply for Medicaid. [(] . Never done that but like my kids (grown) say there is always a first time for everything. Guess I have vented enough for one day, just been hurting alot and wanted to get it out of my system. So thanks to all that listen and understand what we are all going through. My love to all always and forever grannywoman8 ()
Guest guest
The headaches I can certainly understand I have had them a lot. There are tons of medicines you can take for them and not all of them are expensive so that would be worth checking out. Topamax is one and they have a drug program and they will send you a card, and when you need a refill you take it to the pharmacy of your choice and they will refill the scrip for no charge if you meet their income requirements. you can check that out on line. Of course you have to have a doc's script to start with. It would be worth a trip, due to the wonderful way it should help you with the headaches. I used to get them like you describe and they are horrible. Do not feel bad about having to get help. I know it used to bother me, but there comes a time when a person just has to do it. I always had so much pride but I needed the help to get better so get the help if you need it. I am sure your family wants you to feel better so they can enjoy you longer!
