Guest guest
Hi , Did he also prescribe Folic acid to go along with the MTX? If not you may want to ask about it. It can help lessen the side effects of the MTX if you get any. I started on MTX pills and it did not go well, constant nausea, vomiting and diarrhea even with high doses of folic acid. Finally I got the drug induced pneumonitis which can be a very serious and fatal side effect from the MTX. We stopped the pills for a month and I went back on MTX injections. I get no nausea or vomiting. I do get some diarrhea and bad mouth sores. So I am on Folic acid 5 mg a day and Leukovorin the day I take my MTX injection. I also take Enbrel, Bextra and prednisone, calcium/vit D. Good luck Toni In a message dated 4/27/04 5:05:35 PM Central Daylight Time, writes: > I just got back from the Rheumatologist and have been diagnosed with > fast acting Rheumatoid Arthritis.
