I haven't been tested to see if I can only use it at night, I only use at night reason being that during the day I can breath on my own. Mmy gas tested and it was low so medical aid (insurance) was informed of my status and advised to be paying for it, unfortunately the insurance declined. Reason being that my gas levels were not too bad, despite my doctor telling them I couldn't not sleep at night due to shortness of breath. I'm on 3L as prescribed by my doctor. What do you mean when you say some use O2 for exertion. I also use it for shortness of breath and I'm astmatic too. being on oxygen/ mental stygma Hello all,Last night was my second night on the Oxygen. I finally figured out how to adjust the canula so I could sleep comfortably and recieve the oxygen that has helped me tremendously. I am now waking without the annoying headaches anymore. I dont seem to be having as many muscle aches either. That oxygen condenser has been a god send.I am however; dealing with the mental issues of being on oxygen. I know that it is benifiting me but, it is still hard for me to believe that my Broch and some of the other stupid things that i have done to myself are now the reason that this has to be.I would see people with portable oxygen packs and, say No way would I ever be on one of those. How wrong that kind of thinking turned out to be. Now My breathing at night has gotten so bad that my throat closes when I sleep.I will 44 years old tommorow. It is just so hard to accept that I need condensed oxygen just to breath properly at night. It is going to take some time for me to get used to the idea. Anyone else out there on 02 who has or is dealing with these issues?How long did it take to get used to using 02. Also Iam on #2 of the condenser.
