Guest guest
I am allergic to the darvocet and percoset line so I take Lortab...it doesn't completely get rid of the pain but does take the edge off it. I also take a mild muscle relaxer...skellaxin. I used to be on Flexerol but it didn't agree with me. I would definetely ask your RA doctor for something for pain to help...and I wouldn't be shy about it. This is your life and we need all the help we can get. Any RA doctor worth their salt knows that a person with RA is in extreme pain during a flare up and no one can predict when one will happen. Other tims most of us have aches and pains that just don't go away. For me the best thing to do is to take a warm to hot bath and soak...I did that before my Dad bought me a hot tub...now I go out and sit in it for 15 - 30 minutes when I am doing bad or if I have plans to go somewhere early in the day. It warms up my muscles and eases the pain. Exercise although I hate to do it is good too. I do range of motion exercises when I am getting up. I roll from one side to the other stretching my legs over. It helps me to be able to get up when I am ready to get up for the day. I also try to reduce the amount of caffeine that I take in. I find that I do better when I don't drink a lot of sodas but it is my one vice that I can't get rid of. I try and get close but guess I am not ready to give that one up yet...one of these days.
