Guest guest
Welcome to the group! There are several of us here from Oklahoma. I live in Enid! I have OA, RA, IBS, Reactive Hypoglycemia, low thyroid and was diagnosed with FMS but am not sure about it. I have all the symptoms but they spill over into my RA so who knows. I take Methotrexate and Remicade injections. I have been given shots at every appointment with my RA Doctor of cortizone and last time she gave me an interim prescription of methylprednisone. I didn't like it - couldn't sleep while on it even with sleeping pills. I take Skellaxin(a mild muscle relaxant) and Lortab for pain each day. I am lucky so far and haven't twisted up and because of the Remicade I am told I shouldn't. But I swell up every day and it seems to be getting worse. I am hoping that the warm weather helps me out. It has the past years but I never had as bad a winter as I did this time. I also have cervical disc degeneration and shoulder problems. I have had 2 neck surgeries to replace discs and I had the arthritis and damage to my left shoulder fixed with arthoscopic surgery. I was glad to have the shoulder done although they say over time I will have to have the surgery again but it sure is nice not to have that piercing pain to live with each day. Anyway - didn't mean to write you a book about me but to welcome you. Feel free to email me at my home email addy. God bless, Althea

Guest guest
Hi Cam, I don't know when my surgery date is it yet. I have an appointment w/Dr. Bridwell on Oct. 23rd and have been asked to stay in St. Louis for a few days for my pre-op stuff. He ordered a CT myelogram back in July and I had that done here locally and they just got the results on Monday (long story about this local hospital sending the wrong films 3 times!). Anyway, I thought I'd hear from his medical assistant this week about a surgery date, but haven't – she said he definitely wanted me to have surgery "before the end of the year" when we last spoke. So, it looks like I'll spend the holidays in St. Louis. ( Also, I was told that Dr. Bridwell doesn't let his "out of town" patients go back home right after they are released from the hospital – they have to stay in St. Louis for at least 2 weeks so "their recovery can be monitored". They said I could stay in a hotel if I had a family member who could stay with me, but since I don't want to ask anyone to do that (and hubby has to work) I am going to see if the doc will just write an order for me to stay at a Skilled Nursing Facility instead. I figure that way I'll get a jump start on my physical therapy anyway. ) Nervous Nelley Kelley>> Kelley,> > So when is the big date? Guest guest
Hi Kelley, Do you think you are going to stay right through for surgery when you go in October, or is it just that you think the date will be a few weeks after this appointment? Either way, I know you must be getting a little tense....I hope you have a copy of the Successful surgery CD on your bedside table! I put the appt on the calender and hope the next few weeks are relaxed and restful. Take Care, Cam
Guest guest
Hi Cam, I have no clue! a (Dr. Bridwell's Medical Asst.) called me on Friday only to tell me that " Dr. Bridwell never sets dates for surgery over the phone " , which surprised me because due to our previous conversations, that's exactly what I had anticipated (getting my date for surgery over the phone). So it looks like I won't find out until I have my appointment on the 23rd (which she confirmed is for pre-op tests). I'm a little frustrated at this point with the " not knowing " and the fact that they've had my CT myelogram films for a couple of weeks now and the doctor hasn't taken the time to review them yet. Downfalls of going with such a busy surgeon, I suppose. ) So, in case they do want to " keep me " , I'm going crazy around the house trying to get everything in order to prepare for just that. It's a futile effort, of course, because it simply isn't possible for even me to meet my own standards in this regard! LOL! Um... I guess I missed something... what exactly is the " Successful Surgery CD " ? Guest guest
Thank you Rashelle. I always feel much better with LifeLift. I notice I feel the best if I do the breaths in the morning as well as later. Somehow I have so much more energy and a better attitude. Thank you for sharing this with us... My daughter use to think this 'breathing thing' just couldn't be enough, that we surely had to strain in some way to have results, but now, she's come to realize, at the age of 30 that the breath is the key, no matter what else, if anything is done. Kelley > > Wow, Kelley, > > You truly are something special. What an amazing message. I am hoping to hear that your headaches are better soon. I have heard from a lot of people who have said that doing LifeLift combined with Reflexology have helped some pretty severe headaches. I will be sending you positive thoughts and prayers that you will be totally better soon. > > Be blessed, be healthy and take good care, > > Rashelle > Harness the Power of Oxygen. > It is Oxygen that burns fat. I had to take 2 Xanax as I had an MRI today to make sure I don't have a brain tumor (I know I don't have one) but I do suffer with severe migraines, and the Dr. wanted to rule it out. MRI's kinda freak me out a bit, I must have fallen asleep after the band LL because I woke up on the floor with the bands in my hands , even heavily sedated, I still Lifelifted! > Kelley > > > > > > > ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ > > > > No virus found in this incoming message. > Checked by AVG - www.avg.com > Version: 8.5.437 / Virus Database: 271.1.1/2920 - Release Date: 06/05/10 18:25:00 > > >
